Overview
Universal broadband networks that are secure and durable are essential to a country’s competitive edge in the future. The Intelligent Taiwan Plan (2009 to 2012) is to assist citizens in using state-of-the-art technology via high-speed broadband networks to enhance the quality of life.

As statistics till the fourth quarter of 2008, global broadband subscribers reached 401.09 million. FTTx subscribers accounted for 12.37 percent of 50.8 million broadband subscribers. Because of high-definition audio and video broadband services, HDTV on Demand, Broadband TV, and on-line games, have become popular, the network operators focus on Fiber-to-The-Home (FTTH) services and deploy stable fiber-optical networks with long-distance transmissions and large bandwidth advantages as the last-mile solution. FTTH is maturing now.

The seminar, Broadband Forum Taiwan 2009, is held to promote FTTH communications industry and business opportunities, during the event of the 2009 Broadband Taiwan Exhibition. Welcome to all our participants in exploring the future of broadband networks with global experts and companies.
